Summary/Abstract: World healthcare organizations’ highpriority task in the new century will be to fight cancer. This is so because of the alarming information and estimations on the prevalence of cancer diseases. There are 11 million of people in the world diagnosed with a cancer disease, with 7 million dying every year. Over 25 million of people live for years with a cancer disease. Over 16 million of new cancers and 10 million of cancer deaths per year are expected by the year 2020. Every year, 3.2 million are diagnosed with cancer, and 1.7 million die from cancer in all European countries.. According to data of the National Health Information Center (NHIC), the incidence of malignant neoplasms in Bulgaria has been in increase over the last 30 years). In 60 to 70% of new and treated cases, the disease is diagnosed on a late stage, where treatment is extremely difficult. The most common causes of death in cancer patients are the lung cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer.
