Summary/Abstract: The article offers an analysis of the collection of tales, legends and myths from Lubuskie region, entitled Złota dzida Bolesława / Boleslaw’s Golden Spear. The basic interpretative context is that of the postwar politics of the place associated with the annexation of the regained lands to Poland. The description of the Polish-German relations whose image can be found in the volume interpreted was framed by the postdependancy perspective. Presented case studies show how folk literature has been engaged in the creation of the mythology of the regained lands and how it legitimised the political decisions, thus justifying the postwar territorial consensus in Poland .
