Summary/Abstract: The changes of the 21st century mark numerous milestones in the life of humanity, as well as in businesses and organizations. The fourth and fifth industrial revolutions, the subsequent digital innovations, and the unprecedented advancement of artificial intelligence, unseen even in movies, have significantly rewritten our lives. Keywords such as innovation have emerged, becoming central elements of numerous studies. Economic growth is now unimaginable without breakthrough innovation results, and without innovation, no significant economic or even social changes can be envisioned. However, innovation is not a concept that can be understood in isolation; it is a process fraught with significant risks and uncertainties. In addition to innovation activities, the project-oriented approach and agile methodology have also become important, becoming key competencies of the 21st century, especially in the post-pandemic period. The aim of our study is to present organizational opinions related to innovation (RDI) projects and the perceptions associated with them from the perspective of project management and the success factors of RDI projects. Our goal is to show how Polish, Hungarian, and Romanian businesses perceive RDI projects at the ownership, managerial, and employee levels, comparing the common and differing points of RDI project management in the three countries and identifying the areas where development is needed to increase the number of successful innovation projects.
