Summary/Abstract: In the workplace, menstruation is still considered taboo by many people because it is not ‚appropriate’ to talk about it, even though one in five women experience significant menstrual pain, which disrupts their daily activities and affects their work efficiency. The people we interviewed in our questionnaire survey spoke honestly about their menstrual status and its impact on work (absenteeism, irritability, performance). The results can help those involved (government and managers) to understand the need for menstrual leave. The world of labor law and the attitudes of economic actors in Hungary are not yet at a stage where menstrual leave rights are widely accepted. The results show that the issue under study is a corporate responsibility and that organizations need to put more and more emphasis on the topic in order to accept the right to menstrual leave.
