Economic Aspects of the Transatlantic Relations

Summary/Abstract: In the face of challenges caused by crisis, further limitation of intensity and scope of economic cooperation within the framework of transatlantic relations can be observed and expected. For each of the parties concerned their own economies become a priority. Within the EU coordination and resolution of internal problems can proceed at the cost of relinquishing or temporarily suspending progress of cooperation with the USA. At the same time, however, the potential offered by the setting up of a Transatlantic Common Market is a unique opportunity for both parties and can become a remedy to (post)crisis problems.
