Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of a petrographic study of 32 ceramic samples obtained from whole and fragmented amphorae, including stamped ones. The material covers the period from the middle of the 4th to the end of the 2nd century BCE. The analysis of the thin sections made it possible to identify four petrographic groups of the molding mass, two of which (A and B) reliably correlate with the Knidos workshops. Localization is proved by the presence of stamps in both groups, whose Knidian origin is beyond doubt. It is suggested that the amphorae of both groups were made in the Reșadie. It is based on the results of amphora assemblage and archaeological excavations conducted in the area. The diversity of the mineralogical composition of the vessel tissues, samples from which were included in groups C and D, suggests that the amphorae were made outside the Knidian Peninsula.
