Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to determine whichsocio-economic determinants influence seniors’ choice oftourism organizers. The study distinguished five basictypes of tourism organizers: local travel agencies, seniorclubs, parishes, nationwide travel agencies and foreigntravel agencies. To answer the question of what theimpact of selected socio-economic factors on seniors’choice is, a survey among 1000 seniors living in the LowerSilesia region in Poland was conducted. Descriptivestatistics were calculated, chi-square and Mann -WhitneyU tests were performed, and binary logit models werecreated showing how socioeconomic variables affect theprobability of using specified tourism organizer. Theresults show that seniors most often travel with seniorclubs and least often with international travel agencies. The main factors affecting the choice of tourismorganisers are income, education, age, professional statusand family situation. Higher income is connected to thehigher probability of travelling with a parish/ pilgrimageoffice or nationwide travel agency. Instead, those withlower income travel with senior clubs. Women oftenchoose senior clubs, while men choose parish/pilgrimageoffices as frequently as senior clubs. The percentage ofthose who use nationwide travel agencies decreases withage. However, the relationship is reverse for senior clubs.
