Summary/Abstract: In 1993, on the occasion of the celebration of the 625th anniversary of the city’s first documentary attestation, the Brăila Museum launched a new series of the regional culture journal Analele Brăilei. The Museum thus took on the role of continuing the multidisciplinary research program on local history that was promoted by the original series of the journal in the 30 issues published between 1929 and 1940. The assumption of the Interwar model meant the adoption of cultural directions intended to sustain the interest for the study of the history of Brăila and for the promotion of local values, as well as a statement of the intention to bring original contributions to national culture. This article presents an overview of the most important studies regarding the history of Brăila published between 1993 and 2012.
