Summary/Abstract: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) takes a very important place in the study of molecular biology. Many biomedical engineering techniques use the products of this reaction for further analysis. Real-Time PCR is a method based on the classical method of PCR. Despite its short history, its popularity and area of use is still increasing. Its main advantages are high sensitivity, precision and the ability to quantitatively evaluate the product in cells or tissues. The phenomenon of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) is the basis of action TaqMan probe as one of many used for monitoring the growth of the product amplification in the subsequent reaction cycles. The aim of this study was brief description of the method with presentation of the most important advantages and possibilities of practical application as an example of research conducted at the Center for Applied Biotechnology and Basic Sciences.
