Summary/Abstract: 1950s were marked in the history of our journalism by several negatives. The Communistic governance, repressively oriented, tried to gain control of the society also by means of the written word- being conscious of its power. As a result of its pressure there happen several radical changes in the culture and politics, especially in the sphere of journalism. Building successes had to be gloriefied by journalists and writers. In the period, when it was difficult to travel abroad, some people got a chance to travel to China, Albania, Mongolia, Egypt... They extolled putative successes that the countries had reached on their way to socialism from „the scene of the crime“. Reports published in the contemporary periodicals and later as books should „inform promptly“ and document „building effort“ in some of the countries and they should induce a simulation of legitimate victory of socialism gradually all over the world.
