Changes in the Social Class System: Polish Middle Class

Summary/Abstract: The author considers the language qualities of the Polish middle class arising in the last decade which would prove the sociologists' statement about the origins of the class and its cultural preferences. She focuses on such phenomena as the lowered courtesy, acquisition of linguistic patterns from the press and advertisement, particular approvement of English (i.e. American English), tolerance of vulgarisms and taboo breaking.
