Summary/Abstract: The paper makes the reader acquainted with a Soviet textbook for Communist party schools "The Communist World Movement". It starts with definitions of basic notions: the historical epoch, the strategic stage, the general line, the main enemy, the main menace in the Communist Movement, the main stroke direction. The Marxist historical materialism considers a revolution as apart of the objective process of the social progress. Nevertheless a favourable powers' balance is needed for the victory of a revolution, and the task of the revolutionary movement is to create it by the moment the revolutionary situation arises. The present stage is, in the eyes of the Communist Movement, that of gathering forces and creating the political army of the socialist revolution. A broad anti-monopolist alliance, a united front of different forces in the struggle for peace, democracy and social progress means an important development in this direction. General democratic demands actively put forward by the Communists objectively lead the masses against capitalism. The strengthening of the world socialist system in all fields, particularly in the economics, is instrumental in creating the powers' balance favourable to the victory of socialism. In the final part of the paper the attitude of the World Communist Movement towards bourgeois democracy and the Social-Democrats is analyzed.
