Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this work is to show psychological aspects of the novels whose themes picture war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (the last war, 1992–1995). The subconscious flows seen as places of memory and war trauma will be in the focus of this paper. Many characters in analysed novels are war victimes deeply traumatized by war. Images of war inhabit not only their thoughts, but also their subconscious world, especially their dreams. In that context, the space of dream opens new possibilities in perception of war trauma. The theoretical basis for this work is found in ideas of psychological realism that influenced poetics of modernism, and also in postfeministic studies. Those mentioned ideas will be observed in novels Iščezavanje plavih jahača by Nermina Kurspahić, Žene. Glasovi by Jasmina Musabegović, and William Shakespeare u Dar es Sallamu by Irfan Horozović.
