Summary/Abstract: Somali pirates are the embodiment of modern piracy, and their area of operation is the riskiest for seafaring vessels. Initially, their attacks were carried out on the coast of Somalia and in the Gulf of Aden. Today, these actions extend to the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and the coasts of Oman, Kenya, Tanzania, Seychelles, and even Madagascar.
