Interakcja „badacz–podmiot badania” w studiach nad mniejszościami w Polsce
Interaction between the researcher and the subject of research in minority studies in Poland

Summary/Abstract: W artykule zaprezentowano autorską koncepcję metodologii badań mniejszości etnicznych i religijnych w specyfice polskich uwarunkowań badawczych. Za podstawową dla takich badań uznano interakcję „badacz–podmiot badania”, którą zaprezentowano na gruncie metodologii socjologicznej. Dokonano także przeglądu głównych geograficznych studiów nad mniejszościami w Polsce oraz omówiono zasadnicze podejścia badawcze i najczęściej stosowane techniki badań. Odniesiono się krytycznie do stosowanych na Zachodzie podejść badawczych, wykazując ich ograniczoną przydatność w przypadku studiów nad mniejszościami w Polsce. Wskazano także najważniejsze przeszkody, na które natrafia badacz w Polsce w trakcie kontaktu zarówno z instytucjami gromadzącymi dane na temat mniejszości, jak i z przedstawicielami mniejszości narodowych i religijnych. The article presents author’s own methodology of studying ethnic and religious minorities in the specific research conditions in Poland. The interaction of “researchersubject”, presented on the basis of sociological methodology, was considered a foundation for such studies. A review of main geographical studies of minorities in Poland was also conducted and the fundamental research approaches and most often used research techniques were discussed. The paper takes a critical look at the research approaches taken in the West by showing their limited applicability in the case of minority studies in Poland. It also points out the most important obstacles faced by a researcher in Poland during their contacts with institutions gathering data concerning minorities, as well as the representatives of ethnic and religious minorities.
