Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research is to explore the consequences of labeling (social labeling versus functional labeling) in the foot-in-the-door paradigm. As expected, social labeling increases the foot-in-the-door effect, functional labeling decreases it. Moreover, when labeling combines functional and social dimensions, a foot-in-the-door effect was yet observed. Results are discussed in reference to self-perception theory
