Summary/Abstract: Sophia Swietchina (1782-1857) from her childhood was associated with the Russian tsarist court. She converted to Catholicism in 1815 and soon after that she and her husband emigrated to Paris, France. She opened a house there which was frequented by many well-known intellectuals. Religious issues and questions of Church’s politics were the most discussed topics there. Swietchina published nothing during her lifetime but she left a huge amount of notes and letters. She was perfectly well-read and interested in all aspects of theology but she didn’t leave any systematic exposition on it. In this article some topics discussed by Swietchina have been presented e.g. relationship between God and man, relations between Catholic Church and Orthodox Church, universality of the Church. The article also gives a closer look at aggressive and hostile reaction of Russia on Swietchina’s writings and letters published by de Falloux.
