Summary/Abstract: The prayer in Act 4,23–31 is introduced by a general treatise on Biblical prayer and prayer in the New Testament. The introduction is followed by the Old Testament background and the treating of the text. The article also presents the text on behalf of the Acts of the Apostles as part of the Lukian tradition. Then follows the exegetical-biblical explanation of the singular verses of the prayer in Act 4,23–31. The article concludes with a Christological summary from a theological perspective.
