Summary/Abstract: This approach amply analyses the positive contribution of globalization in development of the tourism sector. The study is justified by the fact that this field has greatly expanded over the past fifty years in the EU countries. Tourism is a sector has a notably important contribution to GDP and employment. The study highlights issues relating to how tourism developed in the sub-branches during recent decades. Special emphasis is placed on the analysis of international tourism, which had the greatest benefit from the globalization process. The study examines the evolution of some important indicators of tourist activity, identifying the main causes that contributed to the outlined trends. For Romanian people the globalization process has a positive contribution to the development of this field. Nature of risk factors in tourism got a less important attention, restricted to collateral and unilateral treatment.
