Summary/Abstract: Starting point in the text is a presumption that in Vaptsarov’s poetry we can often see the image of death but the lexis ‘life’ is the word with highest frequency. This at first glance contradiction between imagery and vocabulary provokes the author to examine founding categories life and death as key categories in Vaptsarov’s poetry.
