Women in the State and Administration Bodies of Belarus (1991-2008)

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the tendencies of the representation of women in the legislative, executive and judiciary bodies of the Republic of Belarus after the proclamation of its independency. The conclusion is made that the obstacles to the recruitment of women into the upper strata of political and administrative elites are still strong but not as insurmountable
