Summary/Abstract: The Orthodox faith is thus rooted în the apostolic tradition as found in Scripture, interpreted in the conciliar tradition, experienced in the liturgy, and proclaimed in the faith of the entire people of God. This inclusive view of Tradition implies that the totality of God’s people, enlightened and guided by the Holy Spirit, is responsable for the Tradition of the Church and its renewal. If the people of God know little of their Tradition or the challenging issues, then both conservatism and change can be dangerous. In encountering the critical spirit of our rage, Orthodox teologians need within the concept of Tradition to define the means by which the Church can critique its life and even change it to remain faithful to its nature and mission.
