Summary/Abstract: Multiple and complex factors involved in prescription problematic demand a global reflection that integrate psychosocial dimensions. The choice of theoretical framework, social representation theory, allows for the understanding of prescription practice and how it is integrated into multiples influences at the centre of the same interactions that it provokes. The analysis of 20 interviews with doctors and the factorial analysis of 320 questionnaires completed by physicians allowed the identification of a quasi homogeneous representational structure for the totality of physicians, and the structure revealed context specificities pertaining to medical practice, particularly in regards to suffering.
