Summary/Abstract: It is somewhat provocative these days to write about political parties and their conflict lines, given that the view of politics and political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina is largely negative, and their fitting this model, or not, may cause discomfort. Media discourse presents politics as unprincipled, a dirty business, manipulative, swindling and so forth, suggesting that the leading political party figures are all these too. Dissatisfaction with party activities in BiH increases from election to election, but what is most obvious is the usurpation of the state of BiH and its democratic institutions. There are all too many arguments from praxis for opposition to and contempt for political parties, but they can be revealed only by means of theoretical and empirical analysis of the process of transformation of political parties. This paper provides a view of just a small part of this complex politological problem.
