Summary/Abstract: The transformation of the media system in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place in stages that followed recognizable matrix of post socialist countries: from the phase of privatization and the creation of a dual media system through controlling the government and regulatory bodies of public services till some indication of berlusonization of media scene. The process labeled as berlusconization of media is characterized, among other things, by the concentration of media, by controlling both, public and private media by politicians and businessmen who try to control the media by various pressures on editors, journalists, advertisers, funders and other important stakeholders. This process dramatically and brutally influences the freedom of the media, journalists profile, way and models of reporting as well as the very structure of the media. At the national media scene is particularly noticeable “war” for political control of public broadcasters that takes place before the eyes of the public which is marginalized and suppressed to the periphery of political and media “wars”
