Summary/Abstract: We live in a society marked by profound changes, where younger generations no longer find in any correspondents in the cultural, behavioral or even spiritual particularities of adult generations. School, regarded as the fundamental institution of education, provides the necessary information and formal training from the increasingly fragile and up to adult age, apparently still plays the same key role in development, today like in previous years. However, the results achieved by Romanian students within various types of international evaluations demonstrates that we stand on the lowest rankings. Thus a rigid search needs to be put in motion regarding the explanations and causes which could bring clarity to this difficult situation of the educational plan.
