Summary/Abstract: The issue of women as subjects of gender policy is considered from the standpoint of feminist critique of the universal subject of politics. The author concludes that the political practice of post-Soviet period in Russia indicates the transition from the gender equality policy to neotraditionalist gender policy. Women who have access to the decision-making are active agents in the implementation of neotraditionalist gender policy and figure prominently in the legitimating of new social order. The author defines the term «structural self-discrimination» and offers relevant arguments of this term.
