Summary/Abstract: Petro Furiqi was one of the best scholars and connoisseurs (experts) of Arvanitasë in Greece, a good expert of their language, of their culture and their origin, because he himself was one of trustworthy members and representatives of Arvanitasë. He was originally from the isle of Salamine nearby Athens. He was a distinguished Albanolog and Albanophon of his time. With his abilities and scientific experience he managed to obtain the position of the manager of Archive of Folklore within the Academy of Sciences of the capital city of Greece. With his special dedication he approached to the issue of presence of the Albanians in this country of the Balkans. Studies of this zealous (diligent) Albanolog would be concentrated more and more on the field of linguistic studies, and less on historical ones. Because of this, there were quite reasonable and natural Furiqi’s efforts to resolve many names of places, through evaluation and analyses. This was the case with the toponym Mani, which he thought that it derived from a real name from the Albanian linguistic space, and which with the very name had existed in VIII century, while the inhabitants of this town were Albanians themselves. Starting from this viewpoint, Furiqi concluded his clear scientific opinion with the treatment from the historical aspect asserting that the Albanians were early inhabitants of Mani, and as well as they were the inhabitants of Morea, anyhow ever since X century.
