“Struck by chaos”, the latest poetry and cultural codes it generates

Summary/Abstract: The authors discern and distinguish determinants which allow them to prove the thesis about the emergence of a new generation of artists in Polish poetry. As the most characteristic features of the latest poetry they regard: new motifs and themes (reflecting non-literary reality — equally real and virtual); different cultural codes: camp aesthetics, pastiche, grotesque, irony and parody; individual language stylizations and allusions and aesthetic paradigm fractality which cannot be prioritised or systematised, and the palimpsestic mix. Analysing the grounds for changes which have been introduced into Polish poetry in the last decade, the authors suggest that with regard to the new poetic generation the term “struck by chaos” should be used, as it most aptly reflects the “generational experience” which has shaped the formation.
