Summary/Abstract: Acccording to the Slovak law, a relationship between audiovisual work and audiovisual record could be defined by the difference between creative outcome and rutine utilisation of a technical device. By recognition of these two, different groups of entitled persons, who have created the audiovisual work or the audiovisul record, emerge. On one side, an audiovisual work must exist as a form of an audiovisual record. On the other side, an audiovisual record does not have to be an audiovisual work. However, it can be a record of another author`s work. In the legal regulations of the other European Union states, we can observe various definitions of the term „audiovisual work“. This can subsequently modify a relationship towards the term „audiovisual record“.
