Summary/Abstract: For the first time the age of information technology raises the issue of legal distinction between a document and its support, especially when the support of the document could be an electronic one. Modern society confronts itself with a significant transition from the legal act fixed on paper to the information stored electronically. Both at a European level as well as at a national one the creation of a legal framework for electronic signatures was pursued with the purpose of facilitating the use of electronic signatures and contribute to their recognition, as well as to drawing up contracts by electronic means.
