Summary/Abstract: It is well-known the fact that in Romania the communist system was compulsory imposed from abroad, fact that generated a great reaction in Romanian society. One of the most important form of this reaction were the resistance groups against communism. In the beginning of the 60s, these groups could be found in Făgăraş, Apuseni or Banatului Mountains. This study deals with such a resistance group nearby Teregova (Banat district), known as "Blănaru-Ionescu" group. Spiru Blănaru was legionary and student in Law at Iaşi while Gheorghe Ionescu was notry public in Teregova. They founded, during 1946, 1947, 1948 a powerful organization against communism that, in certain circumstances took refuge in the forests surrounding Teregova. They were supported with food, information, weapons and so on by numerous inhabitants of Teregova and neighbours. At the end of 1948 and the beginning of 1949 the group was confronted with Security, the battles ending with deads and wounded both parts. After such an incident in March 1949, Spiru Blănaru -after he was shot in his leg- was arrested, convicted to death and executed. The rest of the group, if not shot, were arrested, convicted to death or prison; the last of them (Gheorghe Ionescu and Iancu Ghimboaşe) surrended at September 30, 1950.
