Our Milton

Summary/Abstract: At the ocassion of the 400th anniversary of the birth of John Milton (December of 9th, 1608) the editorial board of this publication presents documents relevant to the first translation of his Areopagitica into Slovak in 1970, which was met with rebuff of the then existing power apparatus. Through the stage of thinking of the academic comunity it wants to help those uninvolved directly in it to make themselves a better picture of the situation dominating the Slovak society, or the Czechoslovak one, in those times.
