Summary/Abstract: One of the most difficult aspects of foreign language didactics is teaching adult students, especially when their education level is low. The present paper is based on the analysis of the Spanish courses that were offered to a group of Romanian immigrants during our doctoral internship in Almería. Students very often felt confused about their deficient plurilinguism. As it is known, the interference of the two Romanic languages mentioned is creative through the generation of rumañol, a variant of Romanian spoken in Spain. We would like to put emphasis on the multi-level language transformations that students make: phonetic, morphological, semantic, syntactic and pragmatic aspects are taken into account. Another considerable issue we would like to focus on, concerns didactic methods and the hardest aspects of learning. We also conducted a survey given to students in order to find out their opinion about their knowledge of Spanish and about the language learning difficulties they experience. The main objective of the survey was to obtain useful pieces of information in order to orientate the didactic process towards students’ necessities.
