Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the efforts of health educators of the School of Public Health in Zagreb during the interwar period related to the problem of lacking of toilets or using unhygienic toilets which made pollution of the drinking water. The problem was a significant public health problem because it was associated with the spread of infectious intestinal diseases. This paper describes the joint work of health educators and local communities to address this important public health problem.
