Summary/Abstract: In this paper the interaction between visual and verbal origins of the poetry is discussed by omparing eloquent examples from Vladas Braziūnas and Leonardas Gutauskas‘ lyric. The rhythmical organisation is seen as grounding the syncretic interaction of place (locus) and language, and offering an opportunity of visual aesthetic aperception, symmetrically expressed in poetry. Poetic speech renders not only visual, but cultural and historical discourse of landshaft as well. Rhythm gives to lanscape the dimension of an artistic discourse. Rhythmical order of the poetic speech, which is affected by the landscape, world out-look, emerging from landscape shapes (formants), and the coincidence of the language and autochthonous place (locus) reveals the meaning of philotopy (i.e. love of the place) in authors‘ poetry. Symbolic systems of language and myth are shown as also taking their part in poetic creation - nomination and performation - by archaic perception of the space structure and capability to name the things.
