Summary/Abstract: Among Serbian minority communities in Central and Southeast Europe, Serbs in Hungary have a specific status. They form one of the smallest communities, the importance of which transcends its membership. Serbs in Hungary have a very rich cultural heritage and social-historical experience – important for global Serbian cultural heritage and Serbian historical experience. Cultural heritage and cultural-historical monuments of the Serbian community represent an important part of the total heritage of Hungary, and the role of Serbs in Hungarian history is significant. In contemporary Serbian-Hungarian relations, both the Hungarian minority in Serbia and the Serbian minority in Hungary represent important factors, although the Serbian community is significantly smaller. According to observers from the kin-state, the Serbian national minority in Hungary – thanks to its traditions and effective use of the possibilities that the Hungarian minority law allows – promotes itself with its activities and organization, not only among other nationalities in Hungary (there are 13 by law accepted nationalities), but also among other Serbian communities in Central and Southeast Europe.
