Summary/Abstract: Regulation plays a key role in promoting competition and liberalization in the telecommunication market. This paper covers the stage of development of mobile communications in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H), impact of regulation and regulation efficiency. Basic indicators of regulation efficiency used are following: indicators of market growth, indicators of services quality and service range, indicators of price dynamic, scope of investments and profitability of mobile communication industry. Regulation is a mechanism that can be used to correct certain market failures. The case of B&H in this field shows that the effects of regulation are positive and the intensity of regulation prevails over market forces in the mobile communications.
