Summary/Abstract: Romanian resistance against communist system is a problem which began to be intensively debated by historians since 1989. Debating upon this segment of nowadays Romanian history has risen out our moral obligation to preserve the testimonies of those -vvho were directly or indirectly involved in this unfair struggle against the setting up of the "red scourge". Our moral duty for those who died in this battle of desperation and freedom, for those \vho remained to face the taints and pain caused by the missery of the communist concentric universe give us the right to tackle this phenomenon, from another point of view. The paper-work is an attempt to reveal some of the characteristics of the resistance in Maramure , the interviews allowed us to place the local characteristic into the national spectrum of resistance against communist regime. The fight's typology and the partizans' characteristics advence towards a model which is extended to a national scale having proper characteristics. This fact demonstrates once again that the resistance movement is not only a restricted phenomenon but it involved a lots of people -vvho \Vere decided to fight for freedom and democratic ideals. As we structured our paper on some different levels we were able to approach general aspects - Oral history methodology, historical background - as \vell as particular aspects standing for a radiography of the armed resistance against communism at a national level, ending with a particular case represented by a partizan profile: Gh.Paca who marked by his personality the resistance against communist system in Maramure, considering his activity years (ten) as well as the complexity of his actions. The expressiveness and shades of the witnesses depositions place some of the partizans' actions to the limit between myth and reality. These intervieYvs represent a small part of the Oral History archives, existing the tendancy of writing all these "pages" of Romanian history.
