Summary/Abstract: The text is an attempt of analysis of process early school education reform. The author of this text tries to find an answer to question: Did early school education change? or Did early school education keep status quo? The analysis contains constitutive features of modernity as a filter of evaluating some elements of educational system. Author compares the objectives, functions and tasks, the scope of the content and organization of education in historical perspective. Designated historical periods are pre-war Poland, Poland after World War II and Poland after 1989.
