Summary/Abstract: Contemporary education is still the education of monologue, unification, massiveness, and uniformity, with the dominant position of the teacher as the holder of knowledge and authority. The society of the 21st century needs teachers who are able to notice students’ individualism, who look for active methods of work and contacts with students based on dialogues. The society needs teachers who make learning an adventure which students are willing to experience, which they are excited about and which brings them a lot of ideas and questions. What can early education be like? What kind of teachers do modern students need? What tasks does the modern society set for young children’s teachers? The author attempts to find answers to the above questions and presents her own views on the changes which are necessary in this field.
