Summary/Abstract: Once upon a time, in a distant Queendom called Flatland – also known as Sign of Danes since the Fe Era – there lived a Gentleperson from the fen where Mendelayev overlaps with Mendel, and slides into the quicksand of Darwin. The Fe Era also manifested in the Fe Space of the Flat Periodic Table. Consequently, it was all but Ordained that this Gentleperson of Flatland, abetted by a Swarm of Conspecifics, should produce a Periodical – fat rather than flat – at the onset of the year 1990 CE.
