Summary/Abstract: I’m very happy to contribute to this publication on the occasion of Jesper Hoffmeyer’s 70th birthday. We were born in the same year, the same month and under the same sign, Aquarius. From different intellectual perspectives, developing different interests, and reading different authors we have come to the same conclusion: the other is in the self, the relation with the external other presupposes the relation with the internal other.
