Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the role of institutions of culture as ''guardians of memories''. Activity of a Commission – later the Association for Intercultural Activities for Rescuing BIH Heritage (AIASN) which is responsible for well-known cultural resistance to aggression in Sarajevo (1992-1995) , is taken as an example. Continuing its activity after the war AIASN organized an exhibition Rescue of cultural and spiritual Sarajevo heritage 1992-1995, and a round table that set forth the initiatives and messages sent to the public and competent institutions in a form of conclusions.
