Intelligentsia, perestroika and democratic transit in Russia (1985—1991)

Summary/Abstract: The article shows the reasons of democratic transit in Russia. The au-thor shows the leading role of intelligentsia in this process. The period of perestroika is shown as the period of original romantic illusions of intelli-gentsia. In spite of some failures in political reforms the article concludes that the democratic transit in Russia continues. Suggestions and estimation of researchers of the given problems are considered.
