Summary/Abstract: This report is about history of noble family Poltev. In Moscow state, the promotion was connected not only with personal merits of nobleman, but also with services of his male ancestors. So, we can say about «career of kin» or promotion of several generations. The main content of this topic is the way of family Poltev from condition of boyars in Smolensk principality, to the status of members of Zar Court in Russia. The main idea of this information that all ranks of Poltevs: as free boyars in Lithuania, as «the Lithuanian of the Court», as provincial gentry in Smolensk, as a noble of boyar Duma — were consistent degrees of gradual promotion of this family in the course of century. The most important conclusion is the necessity to learn fates of Russian gentries in the broad context of patrimonial career.
