Summary/Abstract: Drawing on the views of linguists from the Lublin school, the paper explores expressive names of the human being in the punk sociolect. Apart from the analysis of general terms, the author focuses on the colloquial names denoting the punk and their main ideological opponent - the skinhead. Even though the verbal repertoire is dominated by pejorative words and expressions, it is possible to reconstruct the values that the punk subculture holds dear (e.g. originality, intelligence, or unconventionality). The linguistic material also reflects the values rejected by punks (e.g. violence, aggressiveness and boorishness).
