Summary/Abstract: Eugene Ionesco wanted to express in his plays life’s unrest, man’s segregation from his transcendental origines. He also wanted to express the fact that, most of the time, people speak without having something to say, that language does not bring people closer togheter, but on the contrary, it sets them apart from each other even more. The playwright wanted to express the unusual character of our existence, to mock theatre, the world, in fact to realize a mockery of the mock. Searching all the time the reality behind appearances, he wanted, in his plays, to confrunt man with reality and to express the unexpressable.
