Summary/Abstract: The ancient words tr7tor7 ‘noise’ and tr7tor7 ‘hell’ are related by the impressive coincidence of their forms and their featuring in the scientific heritage of Miklosich. This paper proposes analyses of their totally unrelated origins, their history and their later forms and meanings.
