Changes of the Way of Life in Hlučín Micro-Region

Summary/Abstract: Changes of the Way of Life in Hlučín Micro-Region. The article shows the basic trends in the changes of the way of life of people in the Hlučínsko micro-region. The way of life has been defined as a set of rules orienting individual behavior in events of one's life. A specific tool was designed for the analysis of the modernization of the way of life. The source of the changes of the way of life is the effort of the inovators to fulfill their authentic needs. Giddens` theory of double structuration is used as an explanation of the specific processes of transformation of the way of life allowing to highlight the role of reflexivity in the transformation of the rules of the way of life. Guided by the principles of the explanatory frame, the empirical analysis has shown the most important processes of modernization of the way of life in Hlučín mikro-region. It is possible to identify them in the following areas – work life, family life and religious life. Sociológia 2014, Vol. 46 (No. 4: 436-455)
